She cheats on him, but where on earth did you get that she hits him? His black eye? It's very clearly explained that he fell as a result of Suzy taking the batteries from his flashlight. God, pay attention.Jeremyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02421991777877742839noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3367546586408407055.post-71075827058674024372012-07-14T12:43:17.193-05:002012-07-14T12:43:17.193-05:00While I loved Let the Right One In, I also loved M...While I loved Let the Right One In, I also loved Moonrise Kingdom.
I've not been a Wes Anderson buff and have avoided his movies since Rushmore. Rushmore was a bit too snarky and full of itself for my tastes when it came out. After Moonrise Kingdom I went back and watched the recent movies I've avoided, and interestingly it cemented in my general dislike of his films.
For me Moonrise Kingdom has a nostalgic and stilted sweetness that captures the border of childhood and adolescence wonderfully.
For me the self-consciousness of Mr. Anderson's style thematically was a perfect match for the story and characters in a way it didn't click for me in Mr. Fox, or Life Aquatic. I have Royal Tennenbaums next in my queue, but I fear it'll also not work for me in the way the others haven't.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3367546586408407055.post-24063546188287022782012-06-29T07:15:52.077-05:002012-06-29T07:15:52.077-05:00Jake--you are such a good writer. And, is the verb form of Netflix Netflex, as in "I Netflexed that movie."?

I'm glad to read a movie review because I don't usually have any frame of reference for the video games you review.
